Izumi Masaki

Izumi was born in Yamanashi, Japan, and started ballet at Miwa’s Ballet school. She later studied on full scholarship at ABS (Austrian Ballet School). Izumi received First Place Award at the 41st Saitama Prefecture Dance Association National Contest in 2008. Concurrent with her graduation from the Austrian Ballet School, Izumi was promoted to ABC Tokyo Ballet Company as a Soloist Dancer in 2013. Izumi also danced with Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida before joining Fort Wayne Ballet. Since joining Fort Wayne Ballet, Izumi’s danced featured roles including Ruth Ricordi per Due, Light Rain by Gerald Arpino, Lacrymosa by Edward Stierle. Her classical repertoire includes The Nutcracker (Sugar Plum fairy), Sleeping Beauty (Lilac Fairy) and Swan Lake (Odette, Odile), Romeo & Juliet (Juliet), Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Flames of Paris.
