In-Theater Education Events

In-Theatre Education performances are presented to area children from public, private, and home school students settings, grades K-12. Prior to the performances, students participate in a docent program where they move through interactive stations learning ballet history, vocabulary, and view costumes and shoes. Complimentary cross-curricular materials are provided a few weeks prior to the performance to link the children’s art experience to their academic learning.

After the performance, the artists return to the stage and children are encouraged to participate in a question and answer session.

Tickets for these performances are only $5 per student thanks to the wonderful support of local foundations and sponsors who believe all children should have access to professional quality arts productions. More than 3,000 students attend In-Theatre Education shows each year, most seeing a dance production for the very first time.

In-Theatre Education performances are available during our productions of The Nutcracker and our Spring ballet,  The Sleeping Beauty .
