Doston Turgunov

Doston Turgunov, originally from Uzbekistan, trained at the Tashkent State National School of Dance and Choreography, as well as the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan. Before coming to America, Doston had the honor of performing with the Alisher Navoi Theater. Since joining Fort Wayne Ballet, he has performed in Mark Godden’s The Rite of Spring, Gerald Arpino’s Light Rain, and George Balanchine’s Serenade. His other favorite roles include Basilio in Don Quixote, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, and the Sugar Plum pas de deux in The Nutcracker. Doston is excited to be teaching in the Auer Academy again this season, passing on his knowledge of character dance to the next generation. He is looking forward to starting his third season dancing with the company.
