Originally from Springville, Iowa, Babette trained at Nolte Academy before joining BalletMet and Oklahoma City Ballet as a trainee. Since joining Fort Wayne Ballet in 2017, Babette has performed a wide range of works, from George Balanchine’s Serenade, Gerald Arpino’s Light Rain and Italian Suite, Mark Godden’s The Rite of Spring, Cynthia Pratt’s Departure from 5th Position, Robert La Fosse’s Balabille, and David Ingram’s Les Sylphides to Tracy Tritz’s Bolero, Broken Hallelujah, and the Weird Sisters in Dracula. She has also taken on roles such as Lady Capulet in Romeo & Juliet, Von Rothbart and Little Swans in Swan Lake, Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, along with the Stepmother and Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. Babette is excited to begin her ninth season with Fort Wayne Ballet and looks forward to sharing the stage with her fellow dancers and the Fort Wayne community.
